Whānau Manaaki Kindergartens operates 103 kindergartens in the lower North Island, and several Pacifica home-based early childhood networks in Porirua and Levin. Its services are in the Central Plateau, Whanganui, Wairarapa, Horowhenua, Kapiti, Porirua, Wellington, Upper Hutt, Eastbourne and Petone.
It has a Whānau Ora contract for around 260 Pacifica families in Porirua, and various other government contracts relating to children and family wellbeing.
Its vision is to be a respected leader in early childhood education and a strong advocate for children and whānau.
Whānau Manaaki Kindergartens' uara/values are nurturing the mana of the child, quality, partnership, and integrity.
The name means caring family, and that is what they are. Its services are inclusive, locally responsive, promoting excellence and innovation, involving parents and community, promoting culture, language and identity, and they are closely connected to local schools.
